Footage online shows members of the left-wing anti-colonialist Idle No More group tying a rope round the Queen's sculpture and tearing it down, chanting "no justice, no peace". Demonstrators were reacting to information that the bodies of more than 1,000 First Nations kids were discovered buried in boarding schools throughout British Columbia. In a separate clip, protesters chant "knock her down" as they topple Queen Victoria's sculpture, daubing it in red paint and leaving a "we were children once. Bring them home" sign beside it.   A groom with terminal cancer collapsed and died at the altar as his horrified bride walked down the aisle with their son. Father-of-eleven Paul Wynn, 57, from North Ayrshire, Scotland, collapsed at Saltcoats town hall last Friday just minutes before he was due to be wed to Alison Wynn, his partner of 21 years. Mr Wynn was originally diagnosed with cancer in May but had only been informed it had turned terminal eight days before - prompting him and his partner Alison, 36, to tie the knot before he died. He was given between six weeks and two months left to live via doctors, who told him his pancreatic cancer had spread to his liver and lungs. However, he collapsed just as Alison – who changed her surname by deed poll a few years ago – walked toward him during their wedding ceremony with first-aiders unable to revive him. Alison described him as a 'fantastic dad' in a heartfelt tribute following his unexpected death. She additionally revealed that her partner hadn't receive

Statues of Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth II and explorer Captain James Cook have been toppled, desecrated and damaged by a violent mob during protests throughout Canada on its national day over the country's colonial past. In scenes reminiscent of the BLM protests in the UK last year where a 'hit list' of statues was drawn up for destruction, the bronze sculptures of Britain's current monarch and her great-great grandmother in Winnipeg were hauled down, daubed with red paint and even appeared to have been strangled with Mohawk flags. With no police to be seen anywhere, protesters in orange led via members of the 'Idle No More' team campaigning for Canada Day to be cancelled, tied ropes to the necks of the statues and ripped them to the ground to chants of 'no to genocide' and 'bring her down' amid fury over the deaths of 1,000 indigenous kids discovered buried in mass graves this month. Between the 18th century and the 1970s, 150,000 indigeno
