Due To A Lack Of Cross-Channel Ferries, There Are Long Lines At Dover

Long lines caused by disruptions to cross-Channel ferry services have caused delays of more than six hours for motorists nearing Dover. The cause has been attributed to bad weather and a lack of ferries. The suspension of P&O services had already impacted capacity at the Port of Dover. People were being "handled like animals" with little or no support, according to lorry driver Stuart Orme, who has been stuck for several hours. "Operators have been working hard all day to process the traffic and get travellers on their way as quickly as possible," a representative for the Port of Dover said. Tourist traffic continues to flow through the port, and while local traffic congestion is lessening, it remains congested." As the airport struggles to cope with rising demand, a lack of employees at Manchester Airport has resulted in long lines for baggage collection. For weeks, the airport has been plagued by delays, with hours-long security lines leading some passengers to miss their flights. Returning passengers were warned on Saturday that there were insufficient personnel to carry their baggage through - or even to let them exit from planes in some situations. To satisfy demand, the airport stated it was having difficulty recruiting and training workers. The challenges arise when portions of England begin their Easter vacations, and demand rises following the lifting of all Covid travel restrictions to the UK. Passengers claimed they were informed there weren't enough workers to get the luggage through the baggage hall. David Warburton, A Tory MP, Has Been Suspended Until The Outcome Of An Investigation Into Allegations

David Warburton, a Conservative MP, has been suspended from the party pending an investigation into claims of misconduct. The Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme of Parliament is looking into the allegations against Mr Warburton, who sits on the backbenches (ICGS). Since 2015, Mr Warburton has served as the Member of Parliament for Somerton and Frome. The party whip had been removed while the investigation was ongoing, according to a representative for the Whips Office.
