David Warburton, a Conservative MP, has been suspended from the party pending an investigation into claims of misconduct.

The Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme of Parliament is looking into the allegations against Mr Warburton, who sits on the backbenches (ICGS).

Since 2015, Mr Warburton has served as the Member of Parliament for Somerton and Frome.

The party whip had been removed while the investigation was ongoing, according to a representative for the Whips Office.
