Putin Has Ordered Nuclear-Weapons Exercises

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the order for the military to conduct a series of maneuvers using the country's nuclear arsenal on Saturday. The exercises will feature ballistic and cruise missile launches, as well as nuclear-capable bombers and vessels from Russia's Black Sea Fleet, according to The New York Times. As forecasters issue additional yellow weather warnings for areas of the UK, energy firms are rushing to restore power to thousands of homes. On Sunday, high winds of up to 70 mph are expected in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, with heavy rain in Cumbria, Lancashire, and West Yorkshire. It comes after three people were murdered in one of the biggest storms to batter the UK in decades on Friday. Storm Eunice ripped through the United Kingdom, bringing down trees and demolishing roofs.
