Former US officials tell CNN that a Russian businessman who appeared in US court Monday on securities fraud charges might be a significant asset in US efforts to obtain additional information on Russian election meddling and other intelligence operations. Vladislav Klyushin's Moscow-based cybersecurity firm's work with the Russian government, as well as Klyushin's alleged relationship with an ex-Russian GRU military intelligence officer, will likely be of great interest to US law enforcement and intelligence officials, according to former Justice Department and Homeland Security officials. On Monday, the Russian billionaire, who is in his early 40s, appeared via videoconference in federal court in Massachusetts for what was intended to be an arraignment hearing. According to Magistrate Judge Marianne Bowler, Klyushin's lawyer in the United States, Maksim Nemtsev, did not file the necessary papers for the hearing to proceed. Prosecutors claimed Holmes lied about her blood-testing company and technology that could diagnose diseases with only a few droplets of blood. Holmes was convicted guilty of four crimes, including conspiracy to defraud investors and three counts of wire fraud, by a jury. The 37-year-old faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in jail. Four other accusations against Holmes were dismissed, including deliberately misrepresenting to the public. Three further counts were considered by the jury, but they were unable to make a decision. The jury could deliver a partial decision after seven days of deliberation, according to the court. Theranos, which was once valued at $9 billion (£6.5 billion), was once Silicon Valley's darling. The company claimed to revolutionize healthcare, but it began to fall apart in 2015 after a Wall Street Journal investigation revealed that its key blood-testin

A Canadian court has awarded the relatives of six persons who died in a plane crash near Tehran in 2020 C$107 million (£62 million; $84 million), plus interest. The Superior Court of Justice of Ontario awarded compensation to family members who had lost spouses, siblings, children, nieces and nephews. After taking off, Ukraine International Airlines aircraft PS752 was attacked by two missiles. Iran claims the plane was mistaken for a US missile. The whole 176-person crew perished. There were 55 Canadians and 35 permanent residents in the group. The relatives launched a legal claim against Iran and other officials, alleging that they were responsible for the occurrence. It was unclear how the money would be collected from Iran at the time. Mark Arnold, the relatives' lawyer, said his team would try to take Iranian assets in Canada and overseas, including oil ships. According to the CBC, this is the first time that compensation has been given to the victims' relatives, and Iran h

The Scot, who won the title again in 2020, is only the sixth player in history to do so. "I'm ecstatic; I've gotten her back," Wright exclaimed. "This is my lady, and I'm glad to see her again." Wright, who switched darts twice during the final, said, "I didn't show up for eight sets and it was dreadful and I was telling myself off so I stopped doing it." "I was becoming increasingly upset with myself, so I stopped doing it, and my darts straightened up as a result." "People may have claimed I was lucky to defeat Michael van Gerwen [in 2020], who wasn't in great shape at the time, but I can prove to everyone that I can win it horribly as well." Wright, who was competing i
