Almost all COVID-19 deaths in US are now amongst unvaccinated

Nearly all COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. now are in people who weren’t vaccinated, a astounding demonstration of how tremendous the shots have been and an indication that deaths per day — now down to under 300 — could be virtually zero if everyone eligible received the vaccine. An Associated Press evaluation of available government data from May indicates that “breakthrough” infections in wholly vaccinated people accounted for fewer than 1,200 of more than 853,000 COVID-19 hospitalizations. That’s about 0.1%. And solely about a hundred and fifty of the more than 18,000 COVID-19 deaths in May were in thoroughly vaccinated people. That translates to about 0.8%, or 5 deaths per day on average. The AP analyzed figures provided via the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC itself has not estimated what percentage of hospitalizations and deaths are in fully vaccinated people, citing boundaries in the data. Among them: Only about forty five states report breakthrough infections,

Miami Beach Building Collapse 'Many Fear Dead'

Image
A wing of a 12-story beachfront condominium building collapsed with a roar in a city outside Miami early Thursday, killing at least one person and trapping residents in rubble and twisted metal. Rescuers pulled dozens of survivors from the tower during the morning and continued to look for more. Surfside Mayor Charles Burkett warned that the death toll was likely to rise, saying the building manager informed him the tower was quite full at the time of the collapse round 1:30 a.m., but the actual number of people present was unclear. “The building is actually pancaked,” Burkett said. “That is heartbreaking because it doesn’t mean, to me, that we are going to be as successful as we desired to be in discovering people alive.” Hours after the collapse, searchers had been making an attempt to reach a trapped baby whose dad and mom were believed to be dead. In another case, rescuers saved a mom and child, but the woman’s leg had to be amputated to get rid of her from the rubble, Frank Roll

The 39-year-old pop celebrity addressed the court herself Wednesday for the first known time in more than two years following the increased interest in her conservatorship after the launch of The New York Times' "Framing Britney Spears" documentary and the #FreeBritney motion organized by her fans. "I’m not here to be anyone’s slave," Spears stated whilst appearing in Los Angeles court remotely via telephone. "I’ve lied and told the entire world I’m OK and I'm happy. It's a lie. I thought that possibly if I stated it enough, I would perhaps become happy due to the fact I've been in denial. I’ve been in shock. I am traumatized … I’m so irritated it’s insane. And I'm depressed." No longer keeping back, Spears condemned her father and the others who have managed her conservatorship: "I certainly believe this conservatorship is abusive. … I do not feel like I can live a full life. … I desire this conservatorship to stop without havin
