Long lines caused by disruptions to cross-Channel ferry services have caused delays of more than six hours for motorists nearing Dover. The cause has been attributed to bad weather and a lack of ferries. The suspension of P&O services had already impacted capacity at the Port of Dover. David Warburton, a Conservative MP, has been suspended from the party pending an investigation into claims of misconduct. The Independent Complaints and Grievance Scheme of Parliament is looking into the allegations against Mr Warburton, who sits on the backbenches (ICGS). Since 2015, Mr Warburton has served as the Member of Parliament for Somerton and Frome. The party whip had been removed while the investigation was ongoing, according to a representative for the Whips Office.
