In the text message, Goldie, who was on her way from Los Angeles, United States promised to be present for Onipede's birthday but she passed away later that day. Goldie had attended the Grammys in the US and returned to Lagos on February 14, 2013, seemingly hale and hearty, only to suffer a heart attack and pronounced dead on arrival at the at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island. The Monrovia Church massacre in 1990 was the worst single atrocity of the Liberian civil war. About 600 civilians, including many children, were killed while taking refuge in a church. Now, four survivors are bringing a claim for damages against one of the men they believe was responsible, reports Elizabeth Blunt who was a BBC correspondent in Liberia at the time.
