Pop star sent this message to a friend hours before her death

Goldie, who was on her way from L.A, United States promised to be present at Onipede's birthday gig in Lagos on the fateful night

Talent manager Lanre Onipede brought back sad memories yesterday February 14, 2018, as he shared the last message late pop star Goldie sent him hours before she died.

In the text message, Goldie, who was on her way from Los Angeles, United States promised to be present for Onipede's birthday but she passed away later that day.

Goldie had attended the Grammys in the US and returned to Lagos on February 14, 2013, seemingly hale and hearty, only to suffer a heart attack and pronounced dead on arrival at the at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island.

"Don’t worry Lanre I’m on way to Lagos from LA , I will surprise you today since it’s your birthday", the late singer wrote.

According to an autopsy, done on February 19, 2013, and was signed by Dr. O.O Oyewole of the Department of Pathology and Forensic Medicine of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Goldie died of 'hypertensive heart disease' which triggered 'intracerebellar haemorrhage.'
