Ways to deal with depression

Depression drains your energy, hope and drive, making it difficult to do what you need  to feel better. Feeling better takes time, but you can get there if you make it positive choices for yourself each day.

What to do to avoid  depression:

* Reach out and stay connected with people

When you are depressed, the tendency is to withdraw and isolate. Even reach out to family and friends can be tough. But social support is absolutely essential to depression recovery. Make sure you reach out and stay connected to supportive people.

* Do things you like doing

Do things that makes you feel good even when you don't feel like. It can be an hobby or you can engage yourself with calls, social media. Make sure that you are around other people because it will make you feel less depressed.
- Get on a better sleep schedule by learning healthy sleep habit.
- Practice a relaxation techniques-It can help relieve symptoms of depression, reduce stress, and boost feelings of joy and well-being.
 

* Move vigorously during the day

When you are depressed, just getting out of bed can seem like a very difficult task, let alone walking out.  But exercise is a powerful depression symptoms. Aim for atleast 30 minutes of excercise per day . Exercise is something you can do right now to boost your mood.

* Deal with negative thinking

Do you feel powerless or weak? Do you always feel down and hopeless? Depression puts a negative spin on everything, including the way you see yourself and your expectations for the future. Always believe that  you "CAN". Do not give up on what seems difficult for you to handle always persist and you will see it come true. Negative thinking can cause you more harm. Don't punish yourself for feeling bad.

* Watch a funny TV show or movie

Anything that makes you laugh or smile can actually help convince your brain you are happy. Watch a funny movie or read a comical writer. Don't think of this exercise as merely a distraction, but as an effective tool in reminding your brain that you can feel good again.
