Parents Of A Baby Who Died With 65 Shattered Bones Have Been Sentenced To Prison.

Parents of a baby who died with 65 shattered bones have been sentenced to prison.

A couple has been sentenced to prison for the killing of their eight-week-old baby, who died with more than 60 fractured bones in her body in south London.

During "continuous physical violence," Amina-Faye Johnson sustained 41 rib fractures and 24 other limb fractures, according to authorities.

The injuries, according to Naomi Johnson and Benjamin O'Shea, were caused by paramedics.

However, after a trial, the couple were convicted guilty of causing or permitting her physical damage.

O'Shea, 26, of Southwark, received an eight-and-a-half-year sentence, while Johnson, 24, of Battersea, received a seven-year sentence.

After being found guilty of cruelty to a person under the age of 16 in respect to a separate kid, both of them were sentenced to additional two months each, to be served consecutively.

Judge Nigel Peters QC called the case as "harrowing" when sentencing the couple at Inner London Crown Court.

"There is no doubt that this is a case of the utmost gravity in terms of child maltreatment and injuries," he said.

The judge stated, "The femur is not easy to break, and tremendous force was employed to fracture it."

On the morning of April 26, 2019, Johnson and O'Shea contacted 999 after Amina-Faye stopped breathing, according to the jury. Despite the fact that paramedics arrived in minutes, she died on the spot.

There were no obvious symptoms of harm, and Amina-Faye was initially considered to have died suddenly and unexpectedly, according to authorities, but X-rays revealed a slew of wounds.

Some had only lately been afflicted, while others had begun to recover.

The case was described as "really heart-breaking" by Det Insp Melanie Pressley, who lead the inquiry.
