A British Fox News Journalist Has Been ohurt In The Russia-Ukraine Conflict
According to the network, a British journalist working for the Fox News Channel in the United States was hurt while reporting on the conflict in Ukraine.
Benjamin Hall, the network's US state department correspondent, was hospitalized after an incident outside of Kyiv, according to Fox.
John Roberts, the afternoon news host, noted that teams on the ground were still gathering information about the incident.
Mr. Hall was reportedly gathering news at the time.
CEO Suzanne Scott said there was "a minimum amount of details right now" in a message sent to Fox workers on Monday, and she asked for prayers.
"This serves as a sharp lesson for all journalists who risk their lives every day to bring you news from a combat zone," she wrote.
Mr. Hall, 39, joined Fox News in 2015 and is a regular contributor to the network's foreign affairs coverage.
He has reported from the front lines of various wars, particularly in sections of the Middle East.
He earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in London, as a dual US-UK citizen.
Mr Hall was in a bad condition, according to Anton Gerashchenko, an assistant to Ukraine's interior minister, who posted on Telegram on Monday.
Mr Gerashchenko also stated that the fate of a Fox News cameraman and producer was unknown to Ukrainian officials at this time.
According to him, the news crew "came under mortar or artillery fire" from Russian forces as they approached the city of Irpin, which is just 20 kilometers (12 miles) north of Kyiv.
Iryna Venediktova, Ukraine's prosecutor general, confirmed earlier on Monday that a Western journalist had been injured and was being treated by Ukrainian doctors.
The State Department Correspondents' Association released a statement claiming the press corps at the State Department was "horrified" to learn of Mr Hall's injury.
