Harry And Andrew Will Not Appear On The Balcony Of Buckingham Palace During The Platinum Jubilee
Only "members of the Royal Family who are now executing formal public obligations" will accompany the queen on June 2, according to Buckingham Palace.
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan will visit the UK for the Jubilee, despite not appearing on the balcony.
According to the palace, the Queen, who is 96 years old, plans to attend some Jubilee celebrations.
After canceling a number of engagements in recent months due to mobility issues, her participation won't be confirmed until closer to the time, if at all.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, according to a spokesman, will be attending the Jubilee with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
"Excited and honoured to attend the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations," the couple was reported to be.
The Platinum Jubilee celebrations will take place over a four-day bank holiday from June 2 to 5, celebrating the Queen's 70-year reign.
Who would take part in the historic royal balcony tableau at the opening of the Jubilee weekend, watching a flypast and waving to the audience for Trooping the Colour, had been a source of discussion.
However, Buckingham Palace stated the Queen has determined that only "working royals" who perform formal royal tasks would be allowed to stand on the balcony.
Following the settlement of a civil sex assault case brought against him in the United States, Prince Andrew stood down from royal duties.
The Queen's decision reflects the notion that there would be no "half-in, half-out" royals, and will result in a different line-up for Royal Family balcony appearances.
The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and their children will be on the balcony with the Queen.
The Earl and Countess of Wessex, as well as Anne, Princess Royal, and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, will be there, as will the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke of Kent, and Princess Alexandra.
