6 newspaper carriers arrested in Imo

The wide variety of newspaper vendors/distributors arrested in Imo country has come to six in number. Today determined that the present day arrest through protection operatives occurred early hours of Monday at Rotobi streets in Owerri.

One of the companies who escaped the arrest stated the operatives accused them of circulating newspaper publications said, “As we had been circulating our newspapers for the Monday edition, policemen inserting on jackets that had IRT inscription swooped on us and commenced arresting us. The ones they took away have been the ones that had Newspapers that had IPOB tales and the ones they stated had been towards the Government.”

However, anxiety has risen amongst the newspaper carriers who sensed that their colleagues had been arrested for promoting pro-Biafra newsletters which have resulted in nearly all of the (Vendors) end promoting pro-Biafra newsletters in Owerri, for over a week running. 

The names of those arrested are:  Mr Nelson, Micheal, Ndubuisi, Shege, Sacatan. While the income consultant of New telegraph, Chuks Ugwuibe, had considering been arrested.
