Man Who grabbed Chris Whitty in street claims he is been sacked from his job

One of the guys pictured manhandling Professor Chris Whitty in a London park says he has been sacked from his job as an property agent.

Lewis Hughes, 24, was with friend Jonathan Chew when they accosted the chief medical officer in St James' Park.

Prof Whitty, who appears very uncomfortable in a video of the encounter, was shown making an attempt to wriggle free after both guys put their arms round him whilst laughing.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson branded the pair "despicable thugs" and the incident led to calls for the top medic to be given the same level of protection as ministers.

He apologised for the upset caused, claiming he just desired a selfie that he could show his mum.
