Elizabeth Holmes 'Criminal Trial Dominated By Allegations Of Deception And Intimidation By Those Who Worked For Her

Just three weeks after the start of Elizabeth Holmes' criminal trial, jurors have already heard allegations of lies, deception and alleged intimidation on the part of those working directly under her and the process is expected to continue until December.

"I was afraid things might not turn out well," Surekha Gangakhedkar, a former scientist from Theranos, told prosecutors when asked why she made copies of internal communications and documents before leave the company. "I was also afraid of being blamed."

A full recap of last week's proceedings is available for free in today's episode of "The Dropout: Elizabeth Holmes on Trial" on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Amazon Music, or wherever you listen to podcasts.

Theranos was founded by Holmes in 2003. The company claimed to develop blood testing technology that only used small droplets of blood.

Almost two decades later, Holmes defends himself against charges of computer fraud and conspiracy to commit computer fraud resulting from a "multi-million dollar program to defraud investors and a separate program to defrauding doctors and patients, "prosecutors said.

Gangakhedkar and Erika Cheung, two former Theranos scientists, testified under oath last week. They both relayed the same information to the jury: Theranos Edison devices, their blood testing devices rarely worked properly
