Boris Johnson Urged To End The UK's Belated Crackdown On Social Media Abuse

Boris Johnson is urged to end the UK's belated crackdown on social media abuse following the murder of David Amess by finally enforcing the Online Harms Bill. 

The legislation aims to target tech companies that fail to remove illegal and harmful content with hefty fines. promised already in 2019, but there is still no date for its launch. 

At a special council session devoted to the assassinated Southend West congressman on Monday, Conservative colleague Mark Francois said the bill should now be placed "in the law book" - and offered to call it "law of David".
