The Accuser, According To Prince Andrew,'May Suffer From Erroneous Memories'

According to court filings, the Duke of York believes Virginia Roberts Giuffre is suffering from "false memories" in her accusations that he sexually abused her and wants to interrogate her psychologist as a witness.

His attorneys have requested an interview with Dr. Judith Lightfoot on Ms Giuffre's claims of "serious emotional distress and psychological harm" as a result of the Duke's alleged actions.

They also want to interview her husband Robert Giuffre under oath about her "claimed childhood trauma and abuse," her association with the late financier Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, and any communications she has had with him regarding the civil lawsuit she is bringing against Prince Andrew.

According to the Duke's lawyers, he firmly disputes Ms Giuffre's claims that he sexually assaulted her and sexually abused another victim in front of her in court records.

The Duke has sketched out a number of assertions of his own, each with the potential to seriously harm Ms Giuffre's evidence and credibility, in the first specific indication of the tactics he will take to counter Ms Giuffre's allegations.

A US court will hear the lawsuit later this year unless Ms Giuffre accepts the Duke's offer of a multi-million pound pay-off to settle the matter out of court and avert additional damage to the monarchy's reputation.
