Thousands Of People Were Required To Test New Covid Antiviral Medications.
Participants in a research of life-saving treatments for Covid-19 are being requested to be over 50 years old or younger persons with underlying health issues.
The trial is accessible to anyone who has tested positive for Covid and has had symptoms in the last five days.
Pills will be given to volunteers to take at home.
According to Prof Sir Jonathan Van-Tam, England's deputy chief medical officer, the study will assist determine how antiviral medications will be utilized.
Sajid Javid, the Secretary of State for Health, has invited everyone who is eligible to "come forward" and "assist us in learning more about treatments that potentially save thousands of lives."
He explained that antivirals were "part of our approach as we learn to live with Covid, keeping the most vulnerable from being hospitalized."

Merck, Sharp and Dohme (MSD) makes molnupiravir, and Pfizer makes paxlovid, which is used in combination with another medicine called ritonavir.
Both have been approved by the UK regulator for the treatment of Covid, with molnupiravir being the first to be approved in November.
Both have undergone clinical studies and have showed promise in lowering the risk of major illness or death.
The research will provide clinicians with a notion of the potential benefits of vaccines for vaccinated individuals, as well as aid the NHS in planning how they will be utilized.
It was launched in December and has already attracted 4,500 participants, but it still requires 6,000 participants.
