Russell Marsh Admits To Killing His Estranged Wife In The Shotton Murder Trial

Last August, Jade Marsh, also known as Jade Ward, was found dead at her home. A man accused of murdering his estranged wife has admitted to the crime.

Russell Marsh denies being involved in the August murder of Jade Marsh, also known as Jade Ward, in Shotton, Flintshire.

He admitted to killing her but said it was not his intention, according to Mold Crown Court.

He was jealous, according to the jury, and stabbed and strangled her while her four children slept. She had broken up with her boyfriend a week before she was discovered dead.

"Do you admit that you killed Jade in the early hours of August 26, 2021?" his attorney, Christopher Tehrani QC, asked.

"Yes," responded Mr Marsh.

Russell Marsh claimed that his four young sons were unaware that he had killed their mother. "Do you accept that you killed her for an unlawful reason?" he was asked.

"Yes," he answered.

"No," he answered when asked if he planned to kill her.

"Yes," he answered when asked if he agreed that he was guilty of manslaughter.

Mr Marsh told the court that he had been off work for seven months and taking medication for anxiety and sadness in the months leading up to his estranged wife's death.

He said his wife admitted to being unfaithful "many times" during a "stressful period" in 2019 when they had four children to look after and were roughly £30,000 in debt due to wedding expenses and house innovation.
