According to US media reports, at least seven individuals were killed in a shooting at a supermarket in New York state.

A suspect has been brought into custody, according to police in Buffalo.

According to the Associated Press, the gunman entered the supermarket on Saturday afternoon before opening fire with a weapon.

According to police, multiple persons were shot in the event, but no other information were provided.

Unnamed law enforcement authorities told the Associated Press and NBC News that at least seven people had been slain.

Governor Kathy Hochul of New York said she was monitoring the situation and advised citizens to stay away from the area.
