Mother Charged After Four Children Killed in Devastating Fire In Sutton

A heart-wrenching incident has left the community of Sutton in shock, as a devastating fire claimed the lives of four innocent children on 16th November 2021.

The incident, which occurred at Collingwood Road, Sutton has resulted in the mother being charged with severe accusations.

Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 19:00 GMT after receiving distressing reports of a massive fire engulfing the residence. Firefighters battled relentlessly to extinguish the flames and rescue the trapped individuals. Tragically, four twin young children, whose ages range from 3 and 4 years old, were unable to be saved despite the firefighters' valiant efforts. 

Authorities have identified the mother, Deveca Rose as the primary caregiver of the children. The distraught mother managed to escape the blaze and was immediately taken into custody by the local police. Investigators have since charged her with multiple counts, including negligence leading to death.

Residents of Sutton have expressed their profound grief, with the tragedy deeply impacting the tightly-knit community. A makeshift memorial was set up near the family's home, adorned with flowers, candles, and heartfelt messages, as friends, neighbors, and well-wishers gather to mourn the loss of these young lives. 

While the motive behind this devastating incident remains unclear, local authorities are committed to conducting a thorough investigation to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the fire. 

They  have been working closely with fire experts and forensic teams to determine the cause of the blaze, examining both the physical evidence and witness statements.
