A Young Dad Sheds 3.5 stone in just 16 Weeks By Eating Unlikely Breakfast

Image
Paul Harrison knew he had to make a change. He was overweight, stuck in a rut and was sick of being a slob. So he and partner Louise decided to join a gym and ditch their unhealthy lifestyle for good. Just 16 weeks later Paul had lost a staggering 46lb, dropping from 16st 12b to 13st 8lb. And the whole family have benefited from his health kick now that he insists that they all go out on healthy walks together before the kids are allowed to play on their Xbox. Floor layer Paul, 41, from Astley near Wigan explains: “I was sick of being a slob. “I just used to live on fast food. I was always eating on the go - if I was hungry I would pull in at a petrol station and grab a chocolate bar and a bag of crisps to keep me going till I got home. “I was just snacking all the time, drinking too much, going out a lot. "If the football was on I would get six cans of lager, for no reason other than the football was on telly. I realised that I had to change.” Paul and

Japan's whale meat first trade hunt over the years gets top dollar at auction

Image
Chunks of meat from the first whales caught since Japan resumed commercial whaling this week fetched "celebration prices" at auction yesterday. The fresh meat sold for up to NZ$210 per kilogram, several times higher than the prices paid for Antarctic minkes, at a wholesale market in Sendai, one of several cities on Japan's northern coasts to hold the auction. The meat came from two minkes caught by a fleet of five catcher boats off the northern city of Kushiro on Monday when Japan resumed commercial whaling after 31 years. During those years it conducted research hunts in the Antarctic and the northwestern Pacific that conservationists criticized as a cover for banned commercial hunts. Japan left the International Whaling Commission on June 30 and has promised the whalers will stay within its 200-mile exclusive economic zone waters. The Fisheries Agency set the catch quota through the end of the year at 227 whales — fewer than the 627 Japan had hunted
