Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has ordered an embargo on Russian oil imports. Oil earnings, according to Mr Trudeau, have aided President Vladimir Putin and Russian billionaires. Western sanctions against Russia have targeted its banks, but the country's oil and gas shipments continue to be accepted. Canada, unlike Europe, is not overly reliant on Russian oil shipments. Despite the fact that the UK buys the majority of its goods from Norway and the United States, petrol prices in the UK hit new highs on Monday as the impact of Russia's invasion on global energy markets. According to Ukrainian officials, the world's largest airplane, the Antonov AN-225, was destroyed during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, causing fear and regret in the aviation industry, where it enjoys nearly cult status. In the coming days, New York City, the first U.S. city to require immunizations indoors, will lift its requirement for indoor businesses, restaurants, and activities. Mayor Eric Adams declared on Sunday that his government would stop requiring vaccinations on March 7 if Covid-19 case counts continue to decline. In recent weeks, leaders in places such as Seattle and Boston have made similar judgments. If no unexpected spikes occur, the indoor mask restriction will be lifted in public schools on the same day, according to Adams. He mentioned that following the midwinter break, more than a million kids will return to public schools on Monday.
