Nigeria: Kano Government Bans Use Of Mannequins To Show Clothes

The Kano State Hisbah Board has banned the use of mannequins for showing garments by tailors, supermarkets, and boutique owners throughout the state.


The head of Hisbah, Harun Ibn-Sina, introduced the improvement in a announcement on Wednesday.


Mr Ibn-Sina stated the use of mannequins contradicts the teaching of Islam, the predominant faith in the state.


The official stated the Hisbah would embark on an enlightenment campaign on how Islam frowns on the use of mannequins.


After that, the official stated defaulters would be apprehended and prosecuted.


“Hisbah prohibits the use of mannequins at shops, business and private residences and different public places.


“This violates Islamic provisions, it is additionally responsible for immoral thoughts amongst some individuals of the public, all these are against Islam, ‘’the assertion said.


However, the statement noted that the ban excludes headless mannequins.
