4-Year-Old Boy Who Drowned At Housing Complex

 A four-year-old boy who drowned in an unincorporated area close to Northbrook was identified early Tuesday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.


Tengis Burenkhuu, of the 1700 block of Mission Hills Road, was identified as the boy who drowned, according to the medical examiner’s office. He was located in the 1600 block of Provenance Way.


Northbrook Fire Chief Andrew Carlson stated the drowning happened at the Mission Hills housing complex — an area west of Northbrook.


Northbrook emergency crews replied to the call, but the Cook County sheriff’s office is handling the investigation, according to spokeswoman Kathleen Carmody.


Additional details about the circumstances of the drowning were not immediately available.
