Biden and Boris exhibit harmony after Ireland rebuke
Boris Johnson attempted play down variations with Joe Biden today at some point of their first face-to-face meeting after the US issued Britain a tremendous diplomatic rebuke for imperiling the Northern Ireland peace process.
The Times disclosed today that Yael Lempert, America’s most senior diplomat in Britain, told Lord Frost, the Brexit minister, that the government was “inflaming” tensions in Ireland and Europe with its opposition to checks at Northern Irish ports.
Speaking to journalists in advance of their bilateral meeting in Carbis Bay, Cornwall, Biden stated that each he and Johnson has married above their station. Johnson married Carrie Symonds, his 33-year-old fiance, on May 29.
Biden said: ''I told the prime minister we have some thing in common. We both married properly above our stations.''
