Billy Gilmour To Miss Scotland's Clash With Croatia After Testing Positive For Covid-19

Scotland celebrity Billy Gilmour will miss his side's clash with Croatia after testing positive for Covid-19.


A Scotland statement read: "The Scottish FA can affirm that a member of the Scotland National Team playing squad, Billy Gilmour, has tested positive for COVID-19.


"Having liaised with Public Health England since the positive test was recorded, Billy will now self-isolate for 10 days and therefore miss tomorrow’s UEFA EURO 2020 Group D match in opposition to Croatia at Hampden."


The Chelsea midfielder was named man of the match after his overall performance in his side's goalless draw with England last Friday night, earning rave reviews for his display in the center of midfield.


He was set to start again for Steve Clarke's facet in opposition to the Croatians at Hampden Park on Tuesday, with the Scots desiring a win to qualify for the last-16.


Gilmour's absence will come as a big blow to the hosts, who are playing in their first major tournament for 23 years.


Several figures in football praised his show at Wembley, including former midfield superb Patrick Vieira and ex-Manchester United superstar Gary Neville.
