Boris Johnson Is Preparing For A Commons Battle As The No 10 Parties Report Approaches
Later, when the results of an internal investigation into alleged lockdown breaches are forthcoming, Boris Johnson will face questioning from MPs regarding No 10 parties.
Prime Minister's Questions is expected to be tense, with top official Sue Gray's report to be delivered later on Wednesday.
The Metropolitan Police Service has also launched an investigation, adding to the pressure on the prime leader.
Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has called for a "cultural shift" in No 10.
She told BBC Breakfast that there were "obviously worrisome reports" about parties, and that it was critical to "address the flaws," but that "this shouldn't detract from the tremendous job that has been done under this government and this prime minister."
Ms Truss stated that the report has yet to be received by Downing Street.
During the first lockdown, the prime minister apologised for attending a "bring-your-own-booze" reception in the No 10 garden on May 20, 2020, claiming it was a "business function."
This week, reports surfaced of a birthday celebration for Mr Johnson in the Cabinet Room in June 2020.
