5 people shot close to Garfield Park

Five people were shot just west of Garfield Park late Tuesday, marking the city’s 2nd mass shooting that day, according to Chicago police.


Four guys and a woman suffered gunshot wounds during the attack in the 3800 block of West Monroe Street about 9:20 p.m., authorities stated in a media notification. One of the people was in critical circumstance after the shooting, however 4 others had been listed in good condition, officials said.


Among other shootings late Tuesday, less than an hour after the West Garfield Park nearby attacks a 16-year-old boy was killed and a 20-year-old man was wounded in an attack in the Gage Park neighborhood, whilst a 26-year-old man was killed in the Lawndale neighborhood.


The attack near Garfield Park was at least the 2nd shooting with 4 or more victims in Chicago Tuesday.
